Where in the world is Attorneys Online? San Antonio, Texas
Demica Rodriguez, our in-house Yahoo guru, and I were in San Antonio last week for training sessions. It’s time for us to do some strategizing on our attorney marketing campaigns, brush up on what is new in the industry, and most importantly – enjoy the sites!
Being San Antonio natives, we know where to go. Our first stop? Chacho’s Mexican Restaurant at I-10 and Callaghan. Not only do they have a wide selection of inexpensive and delectable Mexican food (everything from tacos to fajitas to burritos to nachos to menudo), but they also have a vegetarian selection, including vegetarian beans (have to include that for our CEO). If you love nachos, get the King Kong – it gives new meaning to “everything’s bigger in Texas”. Most people swear by their Taco Norteños, but I love their chilaquiles breakfast tacos (hold the chorizo). But, they seem to be most famous for their margaritas (regular, strawberry or swirl) and their frozen Jack and Cokes. If you go at night, you have to be 21 to get in and expect a crowd, but the food and drinks are excellent and the price is pretty great, too.
Next stop? A San Antonio Spurs playoff game. San Antonio’s only professional sports team is the Spurs and you can’t get far in the city without seeing a “Go Spurs Go” sign. We refer to our boys as if we know them personally (Tim, Tony, Manu) and show incredible team spirit everywhere we go (sides of buildings, cars, decorations, etc). And what is more exciting than the playoffs against the Phoenix Suns? Definitely a game not to miss. Next up: The Utah Jazz.
Now, the question that everyone asks – should we go to the Riverwalk or is it too touristy? Of course it is touristy; however, the Riverwalk can be a lot of fun. If you’ve never been – definitely go at night so that you can see it lit up, but remember that it will always be crowded. You will definitely see lots of mariachi music and random gifts being sold, but you get swept up in the excitement pretty quickly. If you are looking for a good Mexican restaurant, I would steer clear of the Riverwalk and head to Rosario’s a few blocks away (910 S Alamo St). If you are looking for a bar atmosphere and you want a very laid back, anything goes type of place – Pat O’Brien’s is for you (you have to order a hurricane). If you want something more upscale, I am partial to Zen Bar – definitely go to the bathroom – at the bathroom sink mirrors, you can see to the other sex’s bathroom - makes for an interesting place to meet someone. Suede Lounge is also very nice and has a dance floor.
It was a lot to pack in for only three days, but we definitely got our fill of great Mexican food and Spurs spirit!
