Law firm marketing in the Horse Capital of the World

We were really looking forward to going to the “Horse Capital of the World” in Lexington, Kentucky to meet a few more Kentucky law firm marketing clients at the Kentucky Justice Association annual convention.  Unfortunately, due to us getting in late and leaving early and the long show hours, we didn’t make it to the Horse Park, but we did have a chance to visit downtown.

We did talk to several attorneys about various attorney marketing strategies.  Many law firms already have websites; however, with the drying up of Yellow Page advertising, many firms have yet to consider law firm internet marketing as a viable alternative.  We explained many of the strategies and we will be following up with these attorneys this week.

Flying into Lexington, Kentucky was exactly as I expected – large, beautiful, green horse ranches.  It’s a small city, but I did hear that the horse park made it worth coming to.  If you are ever in Lexington, I would definitely NOT recommend the Marriott Griffin Gate Resort.  Though the hotel is pretty, the staff are very rude and very unaccommodating; if your remote control doesn’t work – expect to wait over an hour to get a new one or, if you need the shuttle from the airport and the shuttle is already there, they won’t wait while you grab your bags.

The Beehive State is open to Law Firm Marketing

We recently attended the Utah Trial Lawyers Conference in Salt Lake City as consultants to attorneys on law firm marketing and attorney web designs.  Just about everyone knows of some stereotype associated with the state of Utah, so they need not be mentioned.  But one thing that I didn’t know was just how gorgeous Salt Lake City is.  From the moment you land, all you can see are gorgeous mountains and a beautiful (very clean) city. It has a small town feel, which is not something I expected from a larger city.

The conference was great for us; though it was a smaller size convention than many that we go to, the attorneys were very welcoming and listed to what we had to say.  Some desperately needed our services and some were already doing well enough, but they all stopped and smiled.  I definitely see us expanding our services into Utah shortly!

The only thing that I didn’t seem to find in Salt Lake City were restaurants that were not chains.  Some restaurants are underground, some require a membership fee (which was a completely foreign concept to me), so it was a little difficult to find them, I will admit.  However, I finally was told of a great Italian restaurant that is only in SLC and, when I arrived, I realized it was a chain and that I had eaten there in Bloomington, Illinois last month; oh, well.  But one really neat thing about the city is the free train that you can ride from certain parts of the city into downtown.  This made transportation so easy and I still go to walk around and enjoy the sites.  I heard that the downtown is fun on the weekends, but I can definitely say that nothing is going on Wednesdays or Thursdays – very quiet.

Overall, we had a great time and the city really is beautiful.  The attorneys were very friendly, which is always a plus.  And, it looks like Attorneys Online’s law firm marketing strategies are headed into the Beehive State!
