Maybe because the name of our company has Attorneys in it, we get inquiries from people looking for attorneys every week.  If we have a client in that geographic area for that practice area, I always give my client’s name and phone number.  I also let my client’s know that a potential client will be contacting them whenever possible.  However, what I have found is that some of my client’s don’t return the phone calls for days.  I know this partially because clients tell me that and partially because those looking for an attorney call back and ask for someone else.

I would like to say that this is just because my attorneys are so busy with other clients that they cannot get to everyone.  However, a simple returned phone call can make a big difference, especially in the slow economy.  Much of our lawyer marketing strategies are aimed at getting potential clients to call our clients – we can get you in the beauty contest, but you have to win it.  So, I beg of my clients, please return the calls and emails – it’s better to be able to pick and choose what cases you want than to be desperate for calls when the well has already dried up and law firm marketing will take a while to kick back in.
