Olympics and Law Firm Marketing
I was talking to a relative of mine who has been an attorney for probably 40 years and we were discussing how things have changed so much in this area over the years he’s been in practice. He said when he first started out that attorneys could do almost no law firm advertising and there was, of course, no such thing as attorney website design or lawyer internet marketing. Now, even though you have to be careful to follow the rules of the Bar in your state, your options are many.
There are many facets to how we can help you with your law firm marketing. A couple came to mind as I was watching the Olympics this week. I thought about all the long hours of preparation and sacrifice that have gone into what these athletes are doing over these couple of weeks. The payoff can be tremendous, but it isn’t easy. Sometimes your lawyer internet marketing seems like that. With SEO, it takes months of hard work and preparation and constant care to get your listing to come up high in the Natural Listings. Once you do, the payoff is great – there is no charge for someone clicking on your ad.
Pay Per Click is much different. The results are almost immediate. This seems to me like the natural talent that lies within these Olympians. They all have something to work with from the very beginning that already gets them “in the door.” We can get your ads up in high positions in the Sponsored Listings quickly. The only downside is that when someone clicks on those ads, there is a charge to you.
Both of these types of law firm marketing are very valuable and will bring you rewards. They work well together since we can get your ads going on the Sponsored Listings immediately and get you a presence on the internet and drive traffic to your website while we work on your optimization and getting you listed high in the Natural Listings.
With these two tactics combined, you have what you need to get the cases you want and be a “champion” in your law firm marketing.
ABA may have slowed us down, but attorney web designs are speeding up
As has become the norm, the American Bar Association Annual Expo was painfully slow. Since the ABA did not seem to do enough to encourage people to come into the exhibit hall, this will probably be our last year as law firm marketing exhibitors. It was surprising that there was not coffee in the mornings or food in the hall during the cocktail party. However, we were still able to make a few great contacts with attorneys interested in creating attorney website designs.
But we did not let the slow convention slow us down in our tour of New York City. Since Allison had never been to New York before, she had quite a list of things for us to do. We made it to Rockefeller Center, Times Square, a Broadway show (Wicked), Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, Lombardi’s pizzeria, Radio City Music Hall, FAO Schwarz, and we still have a few more highlights. Plus, we hit every food vendor we could find – pretzels, hot dogs, knishes, chicken and rice, warm nuts, and more. We are heading to Washington DC today, so it will be quite a tourist whirlwind!
