Law Firm Marketing – K.I.S.S

Keep It Simple…Silly – It is a familiar marketing phrase and quite possibly a good philosophy for life. However for law firm marketing it is vital! Your marketing should avoid complexity and be simple and straightforward with the information you provide about yourself and your practice. Why is this is important? Well, once your ideal client finds you they need to gather the following in as little time as possible before you lose their attention:

  1. Who You Are
  2. What You Do
  3. Why You are Good At It
  4. Why Should They Contact You?

Who You Are – You are an attorney…but what kind of an attorney? If you have a niche practice and you focus on specific cases let that be part of a person’s first impression. This idea blends with the concept of why someone should contact you.

What You Do – This can be tricky. Consider a 2 minute speech. What would you say you do and do it well? Find a way to state this simply. Again this helps reinforce why someone should call you.

Why You Are Good At It – State the years of experience you have, your competitive advantage, your accreditations – anything to show your value….so they want to contact you!

Why Should They Contact You – This is your closing statement. This is your chance to bring on the charm, or wow them, before you lose their attention – if there is no fee to call you, or contact you, then state that everywhere! If you they don’t have to pay anything unless you recover make sure to state that too! You want someone’s perception of risk to contact you to be as low as possible so you can reach out to a client and let them know you can help.

Law Firm Marketing can be simple if you make sure all of your tactics answer those four basic questions. If you need help deciding how to incorporate this approach into your marketing  then contact the law firm marketing consultants at Attorneys Online Inc. They offer free consultations and will do their best to help you Keep It Simple…Silly!

Lessons from the NBA finals

If you watch any kind of Sports, you know that strategy makes the difference between a champion and just another team that had potential. A team may have to try several different line-ups (even within one game) and in a 7 game series with the same opponent, strategy often changes from game to game depending upon how things are working. The coaches and players are constantly evaluating the performance of their team and what might work better in the circumstances and are willing to sometimes make personal sacrifices in order to get to the next level.
The same principles apply to your attorney internet marketing. It is vital that you find ways to track the response you are getting from the law firm marketing you are doing. Are your campaigns with Google, Yahoo & Superpages bringing the kinds of calls or inquiries you want? If you are getting good calls or if you are not, please let me know so I can make the adjustments necessary. It may be simple adjustments or it may be that we need to discuss a change in strategy. We may have to try more than one strategy for your law firm marketing before we find just the right one that makes your firm a “champion” in your area. A strategy that worked for a while may not continue to be successful, and we may need to re-evaluate and change things up. You are part of the “team” in your lawyer advertising – we need your feedback to know how things are playing out on your end in order for us to be able to adjust things on our end. Even if we are “behind in the series” right now – there’s time to work to make a great comeback! Give us a call and we can talk about different strategies.
