Giving Thanks
This is the time of year where we take a look at the year’s accomplishments. If we are true to ourselves we acknowledge those that have helped us reach our goals. So at this time I’d like to thank all of our Attorneys Online clients that throughout the year have trusted us with their law firm website design, website hosting, search engine optimization and internet marketing. We are grateful for your business.
On the other side of it, we have been thanked by our clients for a job well done. We don’t expect it, but it is a really nice surprise when a client takes the time to tell us that they are getting results from their search engine optimization or their internet marketing campaigns. It helps us to know that what we are doing is producing results. That’s the best part of what we do, getting results for our clients.
As for me in the technical department, I am thankful when I can help a client set up their emails or get their site transferred to our website hosting services. It’s especially nice when they come to me with a problem and I am able to solve it.
At Attorneys Online, we work with our clients to see that their law firm’s website, hosting and search engine optimization goals are met, and when they are, that’s thanks enough.
Have a safe and happy Thanksgiving holiday.
Making sense of Google PPC Acronyms
One of the most popular law firm internet marketing strategies that we use for our clients is Pay Per Click campaigns; we call these campaigns SNAP™ (or Sponsored Net Ad Placement). Every month, we send our clients reports, which detail how the campaign did for the month. In order to understand the campaign, you need to know what the acronyms mean.
-
Impressions are the number of times that your listing was displayed in the search results of all partnered search engines for that particular search term. Note: you are not charged for Impressions.
-
Clicks are when a user clicks on your search listing and arrives at your web site.
-
CTR is the “Click Through Rate”. This is a percentage of the number of clickthroughs from the number of impressions generated for the specified search term. In math terms: divide the number of clicks over the number of impressions.
-
Average Cost is the average cost of that search term for the period of the summary report. As your bids are managed, they sometimes will change from day to day, so this is an average of their cost.
-
CPC is “Cost Per Click”. This is your current actual cost per click.
-
Average Position is the average position of your listing in the search results. So if your average position is 1, then you averaged coming up in the # 1 position on the page of a search engine when someone searched for that particular search term.
Understanding what your law firm marketing reports tell you is important in telling us what is working.
Use your attorney web design to sell yourself
Clients often ask what kind of content should be added to their website. The easy answer is that the more information, the better because this will help you come up better in the natural listings. However, just as imporant is to use this content to sell yourself to potential clients.
You need to make sure that your law firm website is a one-stop shop for your clients. It should answer what your services include (as specifically as possible), answer frequently asked questions, etc. It should also tell what your qualifications are (including schools you went to or classes you attended), case results (mention dollar amounts if your state allows you to), articles you have published (including the actual content), client testimonials (maybe even a reference list), experience, professional associations (legal and otherwise), and any other pertinent information. The more often you can repeat this information, the better. You want to show the client that you are more than qualified to handle this case and that you will treat it with the individualized attention that your client deserves.
Make sure that your attorney web design gives the client information relevevant to their case and content that illustrates why you are the best attorney for the job.
