Since “Life’s Short”, are all ads fair game?

By now, we have all heard about the infamous Chicago divorce billboard.  If you haven’t, you can see it here.  Basically, it shows a voluptuous woman’s torso in black lingerie on one side and a tan, male torso with washboard abs on the other.  In the middle is the tag line “Life’s Short. Get a Divorce.”

The purpose of advertising is to elicit a response and the national controversy that this advertisement stirred up did just that.  Was this a genius ad?  Or does it push the limits too far and become offensive?

What do you think?

Attorneys Online Launches Niche Practice Websites for Messa & Associates, PC

We are proud to announce the launch of four niche practice Gallery Websites for Messa & Associates, PC.  These niche practice law firm website designs use the same corporate identity that the firm all ready has in place on its main site, including logo, layout, and colors.  However, the niche sites gave the law firm the chance to highlight particular parts of its personal injury practice, including Birth Injuries, Construction Accident Injuries, Trucking Accidents, and Airplane Accidents.  While the websites overall look and feel is similar, we changed text and photos to highlight each practice area.  From now on, the law firm’s marketing strategies, including the law firm’s pay-per-click advertising, will be directed at each of its new websites.

Good Side and Bad Side

In Spider Man 3 which has now come out in theaters accross America, the web slinger is shown to have a dark side, a side that is hard to understand and that can ultimately destroy him if not gotten under control. But his web is not the only tangled one that can lead to a destructive end. The web that can be a lawyer’s best friend in advertising can become a monster that will ultimately lead to self-destruction if not adapted and managed properly.

All the ads that can be written and the bids that can be made to keep those ads in top positions on search engines will only go so far in leading potential clients through a door of legal help and hope. The ads may present the ideal (albeit short and sweet) picture of what is needed in legal help (i.e., the good side) while the actual website that is only a click away can be the hindrance that turns the potential client into a casual browser that can’t click the “back” button fast enough to return to the search results in hopes of better results on the other end of the next ad–the one after yours.

Putting the necessary funds and creativity into a website is an essential part of presenting a worthwhile picture to the prospective client. Once the one who is in search of good legal representation reaches your site, they should see something that is both pleasing to the eye and user friendly. It should be easy to read, with essential information such a phone numbers and areas of practice in prime locations for easy access and likely use. The first page, especially, should not be one that requires a lot of scrolling on the part of the client–if it is important enough to be on the page, then say it succinctly and understandably so that all of the information can fit on the screen when the website first pops up.

There are several essential elements to a crisp, well-organized and enticing web site that should not be ignored by the legal team that wants to present the best picture to those in need of strong legal help. Attorneys Online, Inc., has the expertise to set up a web site that is both inviting and informational and will have the greatest potential for bringing clients through the virtual law firm door.
