Doing a law firm TV advertisement? You need a vanity number.

Many clients call and ask us if they should invest advertising dollars into television advertising.  Our reply is usually, “Yes, if you have a good number and you have the money to really push it”.  In essence, the most important element of the television ad is that the phone number should be easy to remember.  While it is great to have a number like 1800-SmithLaw, the truth is, the television viewer is more likely to remember that you are a law firm rather than that your firm name is Smith.  The best vanity number available is definitely 1-800-Lawyers (or 1-800-Abogado in Spanish).  People dial these numbers by default; however, your television ads will just reinforce this.  Surprisingly, this number is still available in many areas.  If you are looking into television advertising as part of your law firm’s marketing plan, consider the vanity numbers 1800 LAWYERS and 1800 ABOGADO for your law firm. If you need assistance in placing attorney television media buys, our attorney marketing consultants can assist you with that, as well.

Advertising Gas Milage

Gas prices are up again. Not only are they up, but the average in Califonia is over five dollars a gallon. What?! Did you say five dollars a gallon? Looks like the summer vacation for my family just became a hike that starts at my house and goes to the nearest water tower for that “mountain peak” view.

The fact is that most of us think it would be great to go as far as we could as long as the price for doing so isn’t so steep that we have to sell our shoes in order to make the last fifteen miles.

It is really not so different when it comes to website advertising. Attorneys want to go as far as possible–i.e., reach as many people as possible with their ads–provided they don’t lose their shirt in the process.

There is an amount of tweaking that is possible to make the “gas” last. If a lawyer is determined that all he will spend on internet advertising is $300 a month, then the best way to get the best mileage is to be specific about where you want to go. Get very serious about the practice areas that are most important to you and target keywords that include “lawyer” and “attorney” so that you know you are getting people who are looking for a lawyer with your particular niche.

Attorneys Online, Inc., has the kind of expertise to help you discover the best keywords and the right places to channel funds to produce the most desirable results. Ask us what we know about getting targeted clicks and we’ll help you stretch the gas further than you think.

Where in the world is Attorneys Online? San Antonio, Texas

Demica Rodriguez, our in-house Yahoo guru, and I were in San Antonio last week for training sessions.  It’s time for us to do some strategizing on our attorney marketing campaigns, brush up on what is new in the industry, and most importantly – enjoy the sites!
Being San Antonio natives, we know where to go.  Our first stop?  Chacho’s Mexican Restaurant at I-10 and Callaghan.  Not only do they have a wide selection of inexpensive and delectable Mexican food (everything from tacos to fajitas to burritos to nachos to menudo), but they also have a vegetarian selection, including vegetarian beans (have to include that for our CEO).  If you love nachos, get the King Kong – it gives new meaning to “everything’s bigger in Texas”.  Most people swear by their Taco Norteños, but I love their chilaquiles breakfast tacos (hold the chorizo).  But, they seem to be most famous for their margaritas (regular, strawberry or swirl) and their frozen Jack and Cokes.  If you go at night, you have to be 21 to get in and expect a crowd, but the food and drinks are excellent and the price is pretty great, too.
Next stop?  A San Antonio Spurs playoff game.  San Antonio’s only professional sports team is the Spurs and you can’t get far in the city without seeing a “Go Spurs Go” sign.  We refer to our boys as if we know them personally (Tim, Tony, Manu) and show incredible team spirit everywhere we go (sides of buildings, cars, decorations, etc).  And what is more exciting than the playoffs against the Phoenix Suns?  Definitely a game not to miss.  Next up: The Utah Jazz.
Now, the question that everyone asks – should we go to the Riverwalk or is it too touristy?  Of course it is touristy; however, the Riverwalk can be a lot of fun.  If you’ve never been – definitely go at night so that you can see it lit up, but remember that it will always be crowded.  You will definitely see lots of mariachi music and random gifts being sold, but you get swept up in the excitement pretty quickly.  If you are looking for a good Mexican restaurant, I would steer clear of the Riverwalk and head to Rosario’s a few blocks away (910 S Alamo St).  If you are looking for a bar atmosphere and you want a very laid back, anything goes type of place – Pat O’Brien’s is for you (you have to order a hurricane).  If you want something more upscale, I am partial to Zen Bar – definitely go to the bathroom – at the bathroom sink mirrors, you can see to the other sex’s bathroom - makes for an interesting place to meet someone.  Suede Lounge is also very nice and has a dance floor.
It was a lot to pack in for only three days, but we definitely got our fill of great Mexican food and Spurs spirit!
